"That’s what I love about reading: one tiny thing will interest you in a book, and that tiny thing will lead you onto another book, and another bit there will lead you on to a third book. It’s geometrically progressive— all with no end in sight and for no other reason than sheer enjoyment."
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (via notwritenow)
This is a nice quote and, you know, kind of true, although that’s an awful lot of books you’ve got there.
You might also like to replace the word ‘book’ with ‘interesting article on the internet’ and call it procrastination. We still think of book reading as time well spent, but lose yourself in your favourite circle of blogs or Wikipedia for half an hour, and you might start to feel guilty about the-things-you-could-be-doing-instead.
It’s funny that, isn’t it?
